“Loonies for Light – Kids helping Kids was begun in my grade 6 class in connection with our Social Studies curriculum in British Columbia.  The focus for this project was to engage the students in learning about another country and in some way to reach out to them.  The Kuwasha Project was an ideal vehicle for our goals.  The students were excited and passionate about their work and planned several fund raising efforts in the school and the surrounding community.

They learned a bit about the lives of the people in Masurura, Tanzania and an immense amount about being global citizens and making social responsibility to humanity a reality.  Next year a new group will take up the action.  We have several activities planned already and the initial group wants to start a Kuwasha Club so they can be involved as well.  We are thrilled to be a partner with Kuwasha.”
